Research. Educate. Conserve.

“I have a life goal - to learn as much as I can about the natural world and do as much as I can to protect and conserve it.”

— Tom Elliott

Our planet is under threat, and biodiversity is being lost at an alarming rate, with many species going extinct before having even been discovered. Countless habitats are being destroyed, leaving ecosystems torn apart and dysfunctional. Wildlife are being overexploited for body parts, food sources and even sport. Indigenous people are being forced from their native lands by corrupt authorities. The time to make a change is now.

Follow me on my journey of adventure, education and conservation to do all I can in my lifetime to help prevent the remarkable wildlife, along with the ecosystems they comprise, from disappearing before our eyes. The discoveries and encounters I will have with the amazing fauna and flora of our world, and the truly breathtaking places nature has created, will be documented for all to see.

My goal for this year is to find and pursue a PhD in reef fish ecology, evolution, and behaviour, with a particular interest in life-history traits and the hidden diversity of reef ecosystems. I also aim to publish my current research, which examines UV markings in selected fish species and explores how these patterns may be shaped by relevant life-history parameters. Join me on the next step of my journey!

Welcome to my corner of the natural world! Here, I share my adventures in zoology, ecology, conservation, and field research, alongside personal reflections from life as an ecologist. I hope these posts inspire curiosity, spark conversation, and offer a glimpse into the fascinating world of wildlife science. If you'd like to join the discussion, please leave a comment—and always be kind.
